Welcome to WalkScilly2010: The Isles of Scilly Annual Walking Festival.

Now in our fourth year, the Isles of Scilly Walking Festival is getting bigger and better! This year we are offering around 57 different walks, as we continue to showcase the wonderfully unique natural environment of the Isles of Scilly.

WalkScilly is not only about you getting your boots on and exploring our stunning coastal and marine environment it’s about getting into the community, meeting our guided walk leaders, listening to local musicians, eating local food and stimulating your every sense . Walk Scilly may offer a host of different walking possibilities but at its heart it will always be a small and friendly festival which, for one week will show you all the hidden treasures of our archipelago.

WalkScilly runs between the 27th March and the 3rd April 2010 and within the Itinerary there is something for all ages and abilities, we have some thing for everyone from new inter-island low tide walks this year which are totally unique to the islands and are only possible at this time of year to old favourites such as the leisurely Ghost walk. There are walks for children, adults even the dog!

This year the festival coincides with the Isles of Scilly Folk Festival, bringing the cream of Cornish folk and Island bands together in beautiful venues for unforgettable evenings. Try a morning stroll followed by a hearty pub lunch with local ale and folk music then an afternoon amble over beaches and moors.

Our festival culminates with our Charity Walk, an island wide event celebrating and promoting the tireless work of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust and AONB team. The festival is delivered in partnership by the Council of the Isles of Scilly and Event Scilly. However it wouldn’t be possible without the generous sponsorship of the our title sponsor St. Mary’s Hall Hotel.

Spring comes early to Scilly and late March remains one of the best times to visit the islands. Make the most of the heavily discounted travel fares and accommodation deals, and we will look forward to seeing you here.
